The manufacturing industry is booming. There is a strong demand for new products and manufacturers need to keep up by increasing their production. In the United States alone,  there has been a tremendous increase in the total of new machines and tools ordered by the end of 2013. A concrete proof that more people are venturing into the production business.

Business owners have the option to buy new equipments or look for cheaper alternatives like used ones. I see a lot of advertisements in the internet offering used equipments, like a bending machine for sale or a fabricating machine. You only need to be smart in deciding which option is best for your business.

What Type of WAH Worker Are You?

The advancement in technology makes it possible for anyone to do their jobs at home. You can perform tasks just by having a few tools - a telephone and a computer with an internet connection. This is primarily the reason why the number of individuals who work from home is growing fast and huge because of a variety of reasons.

There are Moms who choose to leave the traditional workspace to take care of their children and the household. There are professionals who simply prefer to go freelance and quit the corporate world. While there are other people who fell back to working at home not by choice but by being laid off. Who else perform works and jobs from home?

The Self-Employed. These people are the entrepreneurial type - they own and manage their business from home. I see a lot of this group of people on Facebook. They are mostly Moms who own stores and shops, either with a physical location or purely operating online. Some have physical products for sale while others only engage in offering services online and offline. The crafty folks at Etsy belongs to this group.

The Telecommuting Employee. I belong to this group, people who are employed in a company based elsewhere, locally or abroad. These are the paid workers. Employment status can be full-time, part-time or project-based. I began telecommuting in 2006 working as a Community Manager / Customer Support Specialist for Zorpia.com, an international social networking site based in Hong Kong. That was my first telecommuting stint where I gained traction. I left my job there in 2009 to work as a Customer Support Manager for a software development company based in the United States.

The Side Hustler. This group of people may be working full time or only part time like the Telecommuting Employee. What makes them different from the other group is that their income stream is variable, as compared to the fixed income an employee receives from his/her employer. Their earnings depend on the hours and the effort they exerted for their work or job. Freelancers who get clients from Upwork and Freelancer belong to this group. Bloggers who receive earnings from their blogs fall under this category, too!

Looking for a job can be stressful and difficult, especially if you are competing with numerous applicants. One of the best ways to search for a great position is to hunt for something on the Internet. This will allow you to view more jobs that becomes available every week or every minute of each day.

Become a Candidate

Seeking out employment online is a fun way to look for a fulfilling position without overdoing it and getting bored. Walking into companies and handing in resumes is not the way to get the job you are after. Hop onto a company’s webpage and view open positions that you may qualify for. Some may be out of your league, while others are just what you are after.

This could increase your chances because you are showing that you are serious and ready to start working.

Apply to as many companies as possible and if you need to brush up on your interviewing skills, find a center where professionals dedicate time into helping those looking for employment, clean up their applications, and polish up their interviewing skills. You never know; the way you answer a question could land you the perfect job.

Valentine Gift for My Husband

Ten days to Valentine's Day and I'm still stuck on what to get for my husband this year. Though I know he'll appreciate just about anything, I'm still making the effort to choose items that will make his heart smile.

Zalora Philippines saved me a great deal of time last Christmas as I saw him looking at the Mick+Marty shoes range especially at a black loafer that looked great indeed. Not sure if he wanted me to see him looking at it but I did see alright, and he was ecstatic when he saw what was inside the gift-wrapped box.

This Valentine's Day I want to give him something really functional. Something he can use every day. So I'm thinking I'd buy him a watch. He's so much into watches anyway, in fact he never goes out of the house without one. But since I don't have the luxury of time to go to the mall and get lost with a gazillion of watches, I'll be buying online instead. It's awesome that I still have Paypal funds these days. 4 Ways to Stay Connected and Productive at Home

Speaking from experience I can tell you it is such a relief not to have to juggle a full-time career with family and child responsibilities.  I’m sure many of you can relate to this.  I’ve tried to work that out over the years, believe me.  I would come home after a full day of work to a messy house, empty fridge and 2 starving children who have to play soccer in 20 minutes.  

I have found that our family works better when the mother is in the building.  My husband even admits it’s easier on him if I’m on duty 100 percent of the time so when he comes home from work he can just chill or we can chill together and just enjoy each other and that is a very good feeling.  That doesn’t mean that I’m against full-time career women with children.  I’m actually inspired by them.  Especially the ones who find that work life balance.  

Women that make time for themselves, their children and spouses while enjoying a rewarding and fulfilling career really do have it all.  I just don’t believe it happens very often. It’s ideal but it doesn’t work. There is no question, in my mind anyway, that being a full time mom is one of the hardest jobs in the world – I’ve done it and the only thing harder is a full-time working mom.   I’ve done that too.  

The part I loved the most about having a full time career was the routine and structure but soon after having my kids came along I realized that I was just spread far too thin and life was whizzing by too fast.  Whether it’s a decision for you to work or not, I believe as mothers we need to support and respect each other’s individual choices.
